Posthumously published nocturne in C minor by Frédéric Chopin. This is the least known of Chopin's nocturnes; nevertheless, the piece is as beautiful as the other ones.

Jesus.. It flows gently, almost like a whispered conversation.. makes it feel like a bittersweet memory resurfacing. It is like finding beauty within sorrow.

The very first time I heard this piece it knocked my socks off. Can’t stop listening to it. I’m determined to learn how to play it. When you listen to and especially play Chopin’s music it’s like you’re getting a brief glimpse into the mind and emotions of a next level genius.

This is the only performance on you tube where the embellishments before the dotted eights sound right. Everyone else plays them so fast they sound like repeated notes!
That double high note 1:42 is very annoying. Ruining the perfection of the piece.

It's a shame this isn't more well-known. The main theme kinda reminds me of Smetana's Moldau.
This piece of music, a so called "nocturne " . in my ears and in my opinion is manneristic and predictable. So i think that is the reason why Chopin did not want it to be published. He was a perfectionist. Music was Art....composing was where he lived for......not to make "a product to earn money" as it is nowadays for so many.
I love it. But I am no expert.

@@lautarotrefilio4773 es solo un chiste. Hay una cancion para niños que cantan aqui en latino america que suena igual a este nocturno de chopin solo que esta en c- mayor y es un poco mas rapida. Realmente no se el origen de esta cancion infantil, no se si se inspiro en este nocturno o en el himno de Israel que tambien es muy parecido. Supongo que en el momento de escuchar este nocurno por primera vez lo relaxione y me parecio divertido publicarlo :) jajsajsjasjasjja

This rendition is almost identical to Chilean pianist Claudio Arrau's version, but even more enjoyable - her left hand is subtler than Arrau's, while her right hand unleashes stronger emotion at perfect places...... Greatly appreciate Elisabeth Leonskaja's artistry for translating and channeling the unutterable beauty in this piece. Thank you for sharing her gift and Chopin's.
